In the flow cytometry and cell separation unit, counting, isolation and all fluorescent activated cell separation (FACS) operations of different cell types can be performed. By means of different fluorophores or fluorescent dyes, it is possible to separate and characterize the cells according to their biochemical properties.
With the FACS Aria III system at the facility, 14 independent parameters can be examined using four different lasers. It is possible to get down to single-cell resolution (single-cell sorting) and four different population distinctions can be made in the studied cultures.
